6 Simple Stress Relief Activities

Chances are you decided to read this post because you have some kind of stress going on in your life.

Naturally I’m the kind of person who gets stressed out worrying that I’m going to get stressed. I stress about things that haven’t even happened yet!

Over the years I have found a few simple ways to relieve some of the everyday stressors that we are faced with. Be it work, kids, momlife, my mental health in general, and things as simple as what the hell I am going to make for dinner!

Anyone of the following activities can drastically reduce stress and reset you mind and spirit.

6 Simple Stress Relief Activities:

Read a book. Not having a good day in the real world? Why not read your way into a different land or someone else’s reality. Theres nothing like cozying up with your favorite blanket and turning some pages into stress relief.

Watch your favorite movie/TV show. Personally I am a huge FRIENDS fan, and anytime I am stressed out I know I can count on the cast of Friends to make me laugh away all the stress from the day. I already know how the show ends and what is to be expected so there are no surprises.

Take a bath. Oh this is my all time favorite stress relief activity!! Sinking into a nice hot bubbly bath is the ultimate way to soak away your troubles. Check out my Recipe for a Relaxing Detox Bath!

Fall asleep listening to music. Grab your head phones and dial in your favorite relaxing music. Don’t know of any? There are plenty of Apps you can download to your cell phone that have amazing relaxing tunes. One I like inparticular is called Music Zen. It not only has relaxing music and sounds but it also offers meditations, relaxing games, and breathing techniques to calm your mind, and body.

Drink a cup of tea. When I smell my Stress Relief Chamomile Tea I immediately feel more relaxed. Its just one of the little things that can bring me to a relaxed state. The entire process of drinking tea; holding a warm cup in my hands, the relaxing aromas, and sipping my way into calmness always seem to do the trick after a stressful day.

Stress Relief Yoga Exercise. Yoga is becoming very popular given the fact that its basically the Ultimate Stress Reliever! And the best thing about it, is you can practice right at home by searching “Beginner Stress Relief Yoga” right on YouTube, and downdogging right in your livingroom, or anywhere else you please. I love practicing outside when the sun is setting. Surrounded by nature sounds and smells, and slowly releasing all the tension from my body.
