I was sitting on the floor in the “Self Help” section of Barnes and Nobles when I came across this book. I read the back of the book and that’s EXACTLY what it said. “Reasons You Should Read This Book”. It’s like it reached out and slapped me across the face.
It had been about 4 months since I had went back to Yoga class after my baby sister had passed in August of 2018. I was kind of stuck in this weird depression where I didn’t want to do anything except sleep. I thought maybe I could find a good book to get me up and going again, back to my practice, back to feeling great, back to…MYSELF.
This book did exactly that, and more. For the longest time I thought I knew what meditation was. You sit cross legged and try with all your might to clear your thoughts, while humming. I couldn’t have been more wrong! Guess what…our minds will never stop, not until we are dead. Meditation is not a practice to “clear” your thoughts, but more of a practice to be “In control” of your thoughts, and not let them control you.
Meditation is the most easiest practice there is in my opinion. And the only thing you have to do is JUST SIT! This book teaches you to do just that! That’s all you have to do. SIT! I was driving myself crazy trying to meditate the way I thought you were suppose to meditate. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t clear my head, turns out, that’s not what you are suppose to do anyway!
I love this book because its not like your average book. There are pictures, and different fonts, and hows to’s, step by step! It’s very easy to follow and it gets you very excited to start!
Just sitting for 5 mins a day can change your life! And this step by step manual can guide you there in no time! There is no wrong or right way to meditate!
